A letter from Yavapai County Board of Supervisors Chairman Craig Brown

Just like everyone else in Yavapai County, I watch the Covid-19 Dashboard found at Yavapai.US/CHS, for daily updates, and like everyone else I have seen numbers that concern me. While we have seen a dramatic increase in positive Coronavirus test results, the numbers that concern me more are those of our citizens in local hospitals with Covid.

Over the past week or so the numbers have gone from 2-3 per hospital to over 10 each on some days. I wanted to take this opportunity to make sure everyone knows that we are aware of the situation, monitoring it closely, and making sure the hospitals have everything they need.
Early on during the pandemic, the County Health Department was able to provide local hospitals with Remdesivir, and our Emergency Management team is making sure that the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) that we have in house is being distributed to those who are serving on the front line.

The County is doing everything it can to mitigate the spread of Covid-19 and we need your help now more than ever. Please continue to wear a mask in public, wash your hands often and stay home if you are sick. If you think you may have the symptoms, or have been exposed to Covid, get tested right away. There are several places in Yavapai County where testing is available.

We want you to be informed and will continue to update the Covid Dashboard often with numbers, news, and updates as they are made available. Until the vaccine is ready, we all need to do what we can to help those around us stay healthy. When the vaccine does arrive, know that we have a plan for distribution, and are ready to go the day it gets here.
We will get through this if we work together.
